Web development for businesses that want enquiries

Can a visitor tell what you do and how to get in touch within a few seconds? I help with structure, copy, design and development, so the site is easy to find, easy to understand and actually brings in enquiries.

Describe your workflow

What a business website has to do

For most smaller businesses a website has three jobs. It should be found by people searching for what you do, it should make the offer clear to someone who has never heard of you, and it should make the next step easy. The last one is where most sites fall short, so I start with content and structure before design.

How a web project runs

You work directly with me from the first review to launch. We agree the scope before building and check in along the way.

  • Review of goals, audience, competitors and your current site.
  • Structure and copy for each page, written for visitors and search engines.
  • Design that follows your brand and works just as well on a phone.
  • Development, forms, measurement and cross-browser testing.
  • Launch with redirects from old addresses and a walkthrough of how to update the site.

Search visibility from the start

Most SEO is about the basics, and they are cheapest to get right while the site is built: one clear topic per page, titles that match what people search for, fast mobile loading, readable content without waiting for JavaScript, structured data and a Search Console connection. When you replace an old site, old addresses are redirected so rankings are not lost.

Measure enquiries, not just visits

I spent three years on web analytics, A/B testing and conversion optimisation at Conversionista. Visitor numbers say little on their own; what matters is who gets in touch and from where. We track forms, phone and email clicks in Google Analytics 4, starting only after the visitor has consented to cookies.

What does it cost?

A web project has a fixed price that we set after the review, based on the number of pages, whether the copy exists or needs writing, and which integrations are needed.

If you want to continue after the start, we move to a monthly scope. We agree how much time and which deliverables each month includes, and we check every month whether the scope still fits.

We agree the price before any work starts, so you know what you are paying for before the first invoice. It depends on how many systems are involved, how access to data looks and how much of the work you want to do yourselves.

Also budget for running costs such as domain, hosting and any platform licences. We go through them before you decide.

Tell me about your current site

Send the address of your current site, if you have one, and what you want it to achieve. Do not send login details through the form.

Frequently asked questions

Can I hire you just for a website, without AI?

Yes. A website is a project in its own right. We only add AI or automation if it helps the site reach its goal.

Will we lose Google rankings if we change website?

Not if the move is planned. We map old addresses that have traffic or links and send them to the right new pages with permanent redirects, then follow up in Search Console after launch.

Who owns the website when it is done?

You do. Domain, hosting and accounts are in your company's name, with the access you need to change supplier.
